After missing last year due to the pandemic, women’s tackle football returns to the Portland Metro Area. You heard that right, the Portland Metro Area has women tackle football and the Portland Fighting Shockwave wants you to be part of it. The Fighting Shockwave will be entering their 20th season. Their first game will be against the Seattle Spartans on May 1st at Hare Field in Hillsboro, Oregon. They have two other home games after that; one is on May 15th vs. the Capital Pioneers and June 12th vs. the Nevada Storm. All home games start at 6 pm and Hare Field (1151 NE Grant St, Hillsboro, OR 97124). Tickets are just 10 dollars, and you can buy your tickets and see the full schedule at Game Day (portlandfightingshockwave.com). Remember, all tickets need to be purchased online either before the game or at the gate for a contactless entry process. The Portland Fighting Shockwave wants to make it all the way to Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. The same stadium where the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game is played every August.
The Fighting Shockwave is one of the longest-operating women’s football teams in the United States as it was formed in 2002. They play in the Women Football Alliance, the largest women’s football league in the country with over 60 teams. The Fighting Shockwave hopes to see more fans at Hare Field and show people.
