Managing in England for the first time, Pep Guardiola did not find it rosy last season and before the second half of the season he came to the understanding that the Premier League is not like the Spanish La Liga and German Bundesliga (If you agree take a look at a trusted sportsbook like Bookmaker) where he had won the league in his first season at Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively.
When he came on board as City new coach last summer, there were high expectations that he would repeat the same feat but that was not to be as his side managed to finish third on the league standings. However, now fully armed with what the English top-flight entails, Spanish boss is ready to take the Premier League by storm and ensure the delivery of the league title at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola has been busy in the transfer market and has made some quality signings for the club and the team is in the category of one of the strongest to win the Premier League.
And the reasons –which are listed below- are not far-fetched;
1. They have signed top quality players
Guardiola has not been busy in the transfer market for nothing but he has made the best signings this summer. Though their rivals too have made some signings, but taking a look at Guardiola’s acquisitions so far, the City boss has simply got arguably the best in almost each position. He has signed five players and he is still looking to get more.
2. Their midfield and attack look the best
Guardiola prefers the trio of Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling towards the end of last season due to their pace, energy and intensity. But the availability Sergio Aguero will also contribute to
the firepower upfront and that makes them one of the deadly attack in the Premier League. And with Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and IIkay Gundogan also in the midfield, they look good for the Premier League title.
3. They have depth in squad
Man City have forked out more than £200 million to bring in Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Ederson, Kyle Walker and Danilo, this summer. Their arrival has added more depth to the Sky Blues team. With Walker, Danilo and Mendy in the defence and the return of Vincent Kompany their defence will be difficult to breach. They have also got forwards who can give defenders a run for their money, flying wingers who can add to the attack and also protects the defence.
