The Portland Marathon Is Rebooted As Portlandathon

Well, that didn’t take long. For all of you Portland Marathon fans who were saddened by the loss of the race – it’s back and should be better than ever.

Run with Paula will take over the Portland Marathon, and there will be zero disruption. That’s right, this October you can still run a marathon in Stumptown.

The race has been rebranded and renamed. Please welcome… Portlandathon!

Dave and Paula Harkin, owners of Portland Running Company and Run With Paula, posted a fun video of Dave singing an announcement of the new Marathon on Portland Running Company’s Facebook page.

The 2018 Portlandathon will follow the old Portland Marathon route, with a few changes at the end of the course. However, if Run With Paula wins the solicitation for future years, the course could change quite a bit from the past course.

I know marathon fans are excited to see what Run With Paula can do with Portlandathon. The organization puts on some fabulous events including; Bridge of the Goddess, Beaverton Half, Helvetia Half, Hippie Chick, and Newport Bay to Brews. Needless to say, they know what they are doing.

Run, don’t walk, to your computer and sign up for Portlandathon at Active.com. Let’s show our support and love for the Harkins for bringing back our beloved race. May they have nothing but success with the reboot.
