Seahawks Tricky Opener Highlights Week One NFL Betting

At the onset of NFL week one, is a very tricky matchup for the Seahawks.  Seattle will be in Atlanta to face the Falcons in their season opener.  Consider that the game opened as a pick at NFL betting websites.  No greater proof can be found as far as the difficulty at getting a handle on the matchup. Seattle’s win total of nine is also sparking considerable debate.  Which means that the oddsmakers nailed it right on the money.  Let’s take a look at the most intriguing week one matchups.  Along the same lines let’s peak at that 2020 NFL win total for the Seahawks.

Which Bird Will Fly in Atlanta?

As mentioned earlier the Falcons host the Seahawks in a week one pick’em.  Defense remains a concern for Seattle in the offseason.  Seattle ranked 26th in the NFL for total defense in 2019. Further they ranked 27th against the pass and 22nd vs. the rush.  It was that lack of defense that proved fatal in a 28-23 playoff loss at Green Bay.

Meanwhile Atlanta saved coach Dan Quinn’s job with a strong finish in 2019.  Four consecutive wins (and sports betting payouts) saved Quinn from the firing squad.  Quarterback Matt Ryan triggered the NFL’s third ranked passing attack.  Cause by that is the worry that Seattle will have their hands full.  Atlanta seeks revenge for a 27-20 home loss to the Seahawks last season.  But that occurred in the midst of a terrible Falcon slump.  Most important of all Ryan didn’t play in the game.

Will Seahawks Soar Over Nine Wins for 2020?

Commencing with the Seahawks over under win total of nine are many betting on NFL questions.  NFC West Division rivals significantly factor into the ultimate equation.  Wild upswings in team fortunes have been the rule of the division in recent years.

First among them is where do the Rams stand?  One year ago, Los Angeles head coach Sean McVaywas the hottest name in football.  All of his past associates were interviewed for head coaching or other important NFL roles.  Following a 9-7 flop of a season in 2019 the brand is damaged.  Which Rams team will we get in 2020?  Some gamblers like over the total on LA’s win total of 8.5.

Second are the defending NFC champion 49ers.  San Francisco was a model of complimentary football in 2019.  No team in football was more complete on both sides of the line.  But in the Super Bowl the 49ers were exposed for lacking game breakers.  Or for that matter being able to stop them.  Further, Jimmy Garoppolo proved to be a strong game manager.  And yet Garoppolo did not show himself as in impact QB like Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs.

Then there is the case of the normally bottom feeding Cardinals.  Arizona enjoyed a highly acclaimed 2020 NFL Draft.  Defensive needs were aggressively.  addressed.  It follows that optimism is high in the desert.  Arizona could be the dark horse that nobody wants to face as the 2020 season unfolds.  But is their win total of 7.5 too ambitious?

As a consequence, Seattle seems to fit perfectly at nine wins.  Defensively the Seahawks must tighten up significantly.  Subsequently the Rams and 49ers are proven contenders. In view of a 9-7 season considered a disappointment is LA still strong.  Of course, the young 49ers busted out of the pack with plenty of upside.  All of which makes Seattle’s prospects debatable either way.

An Opening Day Revelation for the NFC West

In view of the Cardinals and 49ers meeting in week one will reality surface.  San Francisco has opened as an 8.5-point home chalk.  Bargain hunters will shop the Cardinals.  Counter to that are handicappers that consider both teams proven choices.  To illuminate Arizona always shoots itself in the foot.  In comparison the 49ers are defending NFC champions.  And a young team that is coming into its own.  Accordingly, this opening day assignment is either a reach or a statement for Arizona.
