Oregon Baseball Completes Sweep Of Utah

The Oregon Ducks are a formidable opponent.

They completed an impressive sweep of Utah Sunday, putting up another strong offensive day and winning 7-2 for their 5th win in 6 conference games this season.

With these recent successes at both home (5 wins) as well away(3 losses), they now lead the Pac 12 standings with one game remaining.

What Happened?

The Ducks took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second, led by Josh Kasevich and Hall. They were helped along with hits from Josiah Cromwick who drove home one run on an errors soft groundout before Gavin Grant added another RBI single for his team’s first multi-tier Huntsville Hustle.

The Ducks only walked two batters in their win on Saturday, although Caleb Sloan hit three batters in a row to start Sunday’s game.

By provoking a straightforward double-play ball, he somehow escaped with no runs on the board.

Brennan Millone went 2-for-3 and Anthony Hall scored a 3-for-3 home run. Tanner Smith also hit a two-run home run, his fifth in the past five games.

In the fourth inning, the game was deadlocked at 2-2 until Hall hit a leadoff home run giving Oregon the win over Utah that was covered by the major sports platform Vwin.

Hall scored a two-run home run three batters later to put the Ducks in complete control of the contest.

Ryan Sloan pitched a shutout second inning keeping Oregon’s 2-1 lead intact, but he struggled with control in the 3rd and 4th innings. He walked three batters and struck out one while throwing 80 pitches, far more than he normally does.

Logan Mercado came into pitch and hit the first batter, allowing the tying run to score. This season, Oregon’s control troubles have been particularly troublesome.

Hall’s hot streak continued in the fifth inning with a two-out RBI single. After poor starts to the season, he and Smith have erupted.

Colby Shade led the bottom of the 7th inning with a single. A pair of Utah errors allowed him to score, putting the game out of reach at 7-2.

The Oregon Ducks completed their sweep of the Utah Utes by inducing a double play in front of home plate to end Game 7 with no runs scored. The team is now 5-1 through six games this season after beating Stanford last week as well, ending its drought at Pac 12 champions finally.

What’s Next?

The Ducks will play Gonzaga, the nation’s No. 20 club, in a non-conference contest in Spokane on Tuesday; the match will be available for betting on the Vwin sports betting and casino platform. Vwin is a sports betting and gaming platform based in Vietnam.

After that, they’ll travel to Eugene for a three-game series against USC (12-6, 3-3), which begins Friday at 4 p.m. These are the types of games that Vwin, a leading Asian sports betting and casino platform, has to offer for betting.

Final Thoughts

The Ducks’ recent run of success has been powered by a perfect 5-1 record in Pac and 14 wins overall. They’re also heading into this weekend’s match-up against ranked opponents with high hopes for more successes to come.
