Have you welcomed to town the Portland Timbers’ new attacker, Sebastián Blanco? You’ll be glad he’s here after watching the video of his highlights from overseas.
Earlier this month, the Timbers announced the signing of Blanco, an Argentinian winger acquired from Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro of the Argentine Primera División. Blanco is a former Lanús teammate of Diego Valeri. In 2007, they won a top flight title for the club. The relationship between Blanco and Valeri will have a huge impact on how quickly Blanco can form chemistry with the rest of his teammates. And that’s really the last step before the Timbers unleash him on their opponents.
Blanco, 28, is bringing with him a ton of experience. He enters MLS after stints in three other major leagues around the world: Argentina, the Ukraine and England. He can score with either foot but has an absolute rocket of a right. You’ll be impressed with his strikes from distance as well as with the accuracy of his crosses into the box. He’s fast, he’s quick, and he’s going to be causing a ton of trouble for opposing defenses this season.
Believe me when I say that taking the minute and half to watch this highlight video is more than worth it. The Timbers are bringing to the league a top-level player that should have an impact immediately. And he will most certainly gain attention around the league as soon he scores a goal like you’ll see in this video: WATCH BLANCO IN ACTION NOW!
