You know it’s a light week in college football when Gameday heads for Kalamazoo to watch an admittedly fun Western Michigan team play a Buffalo team that is 2-8 and lost their season-opening game to Albany.

If you haven’t noticed, college football is pretty wacky right now. Two teams that lost last week are still in the College Football Playoff top four. I went 7-7 last week, dragging my record on the year to 97-42. Here are the picks.

Ohio State 45, Michigan State 13 – That Michigan State basketball loss to Middle Tennessee in the tournament last March might actually be the end of Spartans athletics.

LSU 24, Florida 10 – So yes, this game really is happening, LSU is hosting it, and Ed Oregeron is nuts.

Utah 54, Oregon 28 – Yes, I know, but do you remember THIS!

Virginia Tech 34, Notre Dame 21 – This is here just so I can pick against Notre Dame again.

Tennessee 41, Missouri 13 – Missouri sold its soul to win the SEC East two years in a row, can’t realistically expect another winning season until 2061.

Colorado 45, Washington State 34 – FINALLY! THE GAME OF THE DAY! LONG LIVE THE PAC 12 HEAVYWEIGHTS!

Washington 61, Arizona State 24 – The Arizona schools have a combined two conference wins this year.

Oklahoma 44, West Virginia 40 – It’s all fun and games now, but we’re like three things away from a West Virginia Mountaineers College Football Playoff appearance.

Oregon State 34, Arizona 24 – The last time Rich Rodriguez won fewer than three games in a season was in 1990 just after he’d taken the reigns at Glenville State College.

USC 34, UCLA 14 – USC for the playoff, why the hell not.
