2020 – A Year Of Sport

2020 is now in full swing and is a year of endless sporting action that you do not want to miss. There are a large number of events that are going to grab world-wide attention, so here we cover the list, so you do not miss any of these.

  • Women’s T20 World Cup 

This will be taking place between February 21st and 8th of March. It is being held in Australia, who will also be starting as the defending champions. 

  • Deontay Wilder v Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder will put his WBC Heavyweight title on the line in Las Vegas in the much anticipated rematch with Tyson Fury. Both fighters bring in unbeaten records, with the winner likely to then challenge Anthony Joshua to become the undisputed Heavyweight champion. Both fighters have been well supported by punters using the Sportpesa bonus, with Fury starting as the marginal favourite.

  • Grand National

The Grand National is taking place on the 4th of April at Aintree racecourse. It is a horse race that dates back to 1839 and draws around 600 million people from 140 countries around the world.   • The Masters

The Golf Masters is then taking place at Augusta National between April 9th and 12th. Tiger Woods is the defending champion following his remarkable victory last season.

Next up is the London Marathon that will be taking place on the 26th of April. Eliud Kipchoge will be looking to defend his title from 2019 in the much anticipated rematch with Kenenisa Bekele. They are the two fastest Marathon runners in history and this sets up for the race of the century in London.

  • Champions League Final

The final of the Champions league will be taking place in Istanbul on the 30th of May. Liverpool are the defending champions and amongst the favourites to defend their title this season.

  • EURO 2020

The European championships will be taking place between the 12th of June and 12th of July. The final is being held at the national stadium of England, known as Wembley Stadium. England also head in as the favourites, as the look to win the competition for the first time.

  • Wimbledon

The most important tournament in Tennis will then be taking place between June 29th and July 12th at Wimbledon. 17 time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic is the current favourite and he will be the strong favourite to defend his title this year.

  • Olympics

The Olympic games will also be taking place later this year in Tokyo. This will be starting on the 24th of July, before finishing on the 9th of August.
