Floyd Mayweather has said that his fight against Conor McGregor on the 26th of August at the T-Mobile Arena will not go the distance. Mayweather, at 40-years of age, has won each of his 49 pro bouts, but has not been in the ring since September of 2015. He has come out of retirement in order to fight the Irishman –who has never entered a boxing ring in a professional capacity.
Mayweather stated that both he and the Irishman were looking forward to the fight ending early, and that he was as sure as McGregor that it would.
Mayweather Has Been Doing His Homework
The American fighter, whose last bout was a point-victory over Andre Berto, has stated that he will be doing the necessary research on McGregor, who is credited with champion status in two weight divisions in the UFC.
Mayweather has explained that this kind of homework was not simply watching recordings of the fights, but also consisted of learning as much as he could about his opponent, with details as seemingly trivial as what they most enjoyed eating, and what they did on their downtime coming into play.

Malignaggi has said that he agrees with Mayweather in that he does not think it very likely that McGregor will last the full 12 rounds, especially since the latter was whimpering each time Malignaggi landed a shot.
