The Tri-City Americans played an overtime game just a day before getting hammered by the Portland Winterhawks as they took the win 4-3. Going 1-4 on the powerplay to Spokane’s 1-3 and edged the shots 29-27 in the game, the Americans looked strong in their battle versus the Chiefs.

Prince George Cougars would only get 18 shots on goal. But they would get two goals from them, enough to get the win over the Kelowna Rockets 2-1. Prince George actually had a 2-0 lead going into the third, where they finally surrendered a goal. Kelowna got 30 shots on net. Both teams didn’t score on the powerplay, with Kelowna  0-5, Prince George at 0-3.

The Central Division games would see the Edmonton Oil Kings going to overtime to win over Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-2. Both teams went 0-2 on the powerplay. Edmonton outshot Lethbridge 39-29.

In the other Alberta battle, Calgary Hitmen also went to overtime in their 4-3 win over the Red Deer Rebels. The Hitmen grabbed a 50-35 shot advantage, with two of the goals coming on the powerplay out of four chances, the Rebels went 1-5 on theirs.

The next night saw the Portland Winterhawks wipe out the Tri-City Americans 7-2 in Kennewick, WA. Seth Jarvis snagged a hat trick with Mason Mannek getting two goals. Just over 13 minutes into the game, the Hawks had scored 4 goals chasing starting goaltender Taryn Boyko from the net and replaced by Mason Dunsford, who would go the rest of the way.

Everett Silvertips went to overtime to grab a 4-3 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds, who were blanked on the powerplay 0-3, while Everett got one goal on four tries. Everett outshot Seattle 36-31 in the game.

On the heels of their win over Kelowna, Prince George Cougars took care of the Vancouver Giants as they blanked them 3-0. Once again, the Cougars registered a low shot total at just 16, giving up 26 to the Giants. Koehn Zimmer scored twice in the second period to put the Cougars up, and then Tyson Upper scored the empty net goal near the end of the third to finish off the Giants once and for all.

The next night saw Kamloops Blazers take care of the Victoria Royals. A pair of goals early in the first and second periods by Orrin Centazzo led the Blazers. Matthew Seminoff, early in the second period and midway through the third period, tallied twice as well. Following Kamloops building up a 4-0 lead, Victoria changed goaltenders from Adam Evanoff to Keegan Maddocks.

Kamloops outshot Victoria 32-29 and went 1-5 on the powerplay, blanking Victoria on their 5 tries.

Edmonton Oil Kings finished their season as they blanked the Medicine Hat Tigers 3-0. One goal in each period, including a powerplay goal in the middle frame and an empty-net goal late in the third period where they were outshot by the Tigers 29-28, gave the Oil Kings their win. Edmonton went 1-3 on the powerplay; Medicine Hat was blanked on four tries.

Portland will play one game against Spokane at home on Saturday, then travel to Tri-City on Sunday before one final home game against the same Tri-City Americans to end the season.
