It has been a truly difficult year for sport around the world and it appeared many would be cancelled, as the coronavirus pandemic meant many areas of the world have spent extended periods in lockdown. This has led to a surge in popularity for online entertainment, with many seeing great success, backed up by sport on the side lines. The Party Poker bonus code was just one example of this, with players finding the platform great for not only gaming but also socialising.
This is still continuing but positive news has been that many sports have returned, despite the lack of spectators. One of the most anticipated was basketball and the NBA, with the Lakers looking to have a real chance of success this campaign. That turned out to be the case, with many punters happy, as they had been very popular in the betting markets throughout the season to land the NBA championship. This was money well placed, with the Lakers ending their 10 year wait for another title, with LeBron James being instrumental in the success of the side this season.
James only joined the side back in 2018 but has now led them to a record equalling 17th NBA title and this is only a 4th championship for the player. This victory further stamped him down, as potentially the greatest player in the history of basketball, alongside the greats of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. The Lakers also paid tribute to the late Kobe Bryant after the victory, who had retired back in 2016 as a legend for the Lakers, due to a successful 20 year career with the side.
The Lakers won the finals, following a 4-2 victory over Miami Heat in the AdventHealth Arena. Game one saw them pick up a 116-98 victory, with a dominant opening performance. Both Anthony Davis and LeBron James played a key role in this. The Lakers then went 2-0 ahead, with a 124-114 victory in game two. This was a much more competitive fixture, but LeBron James again proved to be the difference, scoring 33 points for the Lakers.
Heat responded with a victory in game three, but the Lakers were back with a victory in game four to lead 3-1 in the series. That was a very close encounter, with the Lakers picking up a 102-96 victory. As expected, LeBron James led for the Lakers with a team high of 28 points, as he again proved to be the difference.
Game five saw another victory for Heat but this proved to be the end, with the Lakers wrapping up the series in game six. This was a 106-93 dominant performance, with the Lakers winning their 17th NBA championship and ending the 10-year wait. LeBron James starred throughout the series, as the Lakers returned to the top of the sport.
