The Seattle Seahawks ended the regular season with a 10-6 record and they managed to secure their place in the end-of-season play-offs, but it was a campaign that left many fans slightly underwhelmed. Whilst Russell Wilson continued to impress in the quarterback role, there were a number of players who have seemingly underperformed this year. Doug Baldwin is a classy operator and he was a staple of many fantasy teams at the beginning of the campaign but 30-year-old struggled for consistency and unfortunately, his overall numbers were not particularly impressive.

Injuries did not help Baldwin’s performances this season and he admitted that it’s been a “trying” few months. The wide receiver picked up a knee injury during a pre-season training camp and as a result, he was forced to sit out of three crucial games. Ahead of the play-offs, he admitted that there can be “no more excuses”and told the media that he was fit and raring to go.

Weeks 13 to 16 were arguably Baldwin’s most effective period of the season, with four touchdowns during a hugely productive run of games, but he wasn’t able to produce the goods on a regular basis and ended with just 50 catches for 618 yards. He added just one further touchdown to his total and recorded over 77 yards on just two occasions. With Tyler Lockett likely to be pushing for a start again next season, Baldwin will surely need to up his game.

After a below-par start to the campaign, the Seahawks weren’t expected to make the play-offs at all but Pete Carroll’s side managed to secure a wildcard berthcourtesy of a superb late run. Baldwin’s performances improved in the final three weeks with 13 catches for 230 yards and fans will be keen to see him maintain those high standards on a regular basis next year.

The Seahawks’ season may be over but there is still plenty of football to be played ahead of Super Bowl LIII. The showpiece event is one of the most watched sporting contests of the year and the league continues to go from strength-to-strength both on and off the pitch. The NFL signed their first-ever casino sponsorship dealat the beginning of 2019 and the pair are focused on providing unique experiences for NFL fans. A number of clubs including the Eagles, the Colts and Ravens already have a partnership with the firm and the Seahawks may add their name to the list in 2019. Football followers who fancy visiting one of their land-based establishments can practice on one of many sporting-themed slot games at one of many online casinos and bonus.ca provides reviews of the operators offering these. Players can visit today for details of how to sign up. It’s a significant step forward for the NFL and they’ve also announced that Caesars Entertainment will also host a number of events at the 2020 Draft.

The Seahawks will be aiming to bolster their squad during the off-season and although Baldwin still has another two years left on his contract, he has plenty to prove going forward. It would be churlish to question Baldwin’s ability as his form throughout December was simply superb but he does need to deliver on a weekly basis and get back to his consistent best if the Seahawks hope to progress a little further in the play-offs next season.
