There is a special Portland Trail Blazers game tonight.
The Blazers play the New Orleans Pelicans for the fourth time this year. It’s been a hard matchup for the Blazers, who have lost all three previous meetings this season. But there’s always hope.
Not only is there hope that the Blazers will break their losing streak with the Pelicans, but they are also participating in their annual celebration of Black History Month. During the match, the event will have an honoring of the Black and African American communities and celebrate their contributions across the country. The match will have live performances, fundraising, and more.
Last year, a portion of proceeds from the event went to I Urban Teen, an organization that works to bring together underrepresented teens and young adults for career exploration and mentoring. This year, proceeds will be donated to Elevate Oregon, a non-profit whose mission is to build relationships with urban youth to promote education, self-reliance and leadership. It’s fun to go to Blazer games, and it feels good supporting a good cause. You can do both by attending the match tonight!
