That is because you need stamina if you want to be like them. Running is the best exercise to stay in shape, especially when it is combined to HIIT (high intensity interval training). This means, as you are running your 5 miles, that you will have to raise the speed at sprint levels, on regular intervals, throughout the whole distance. Boxers do drills, in order to practice their speed, stance and footwork. It helps them to get more powerful, but also to be in better condition, generally speaking.
