Portland Thorns Release Schedule

Portland ThornsIn case you haven’t heard, this spring Portland welcomes the Portland Thorns FC women’s soccer league. The Portland Thorns FC will kick off the inaugural National Women’s Soccer League season (NWSL) on April 13 with a road game against FC Kansas City.  The Thorns FC will have 11 home matches and 11 on the road, and all teams will play within a single table without conferences.

The Thorns FC roster is strong. On January 11, 2013, the league held its player allocation for the national team players and the Thorns picked up our own University of Portland Pilots star Christine Sinclair. The other players assigned to the Thorns were Rachel Buehler, Tobin Heath, Karina LeBlanc, Alex Morgan, Marlene Sandoval, and Luz Saucedo. In the league's first ever college draft held in January, the Thorns were able to add add Kathryn Williamson, Amber Brooks, Nicolette Radovcic, and Roxanne Barker.

Tickets are available for Thorns FC home matches by contacting the Timbers and Thorns FC ticket group. Season ticket prices throughout the stadium's lower bowl are set at $9 per game for general admission, $15 for touchline reserved seats and $22 for club seats. Current Timbers season ticket holders are given priority to purchase season tickets for Thorns FC, but opportunities are available for those on the Timbers Season Ticket Waiting List and fans who purchased a refundable $25 deposit for Thorns FC season tickets to secure packages. Fans interested in purchasing Thorns FC season tickets are encouraged to call the ticket office at (503) 553-5555 or email ticketsales@portlandtimbers.com.
