English Premier League – Emery Factory At Arsenal

The English premier league has for some time been the biggest and best in world football. This not only comes down to the vast number of fans around the world tuning in, but the continued competitive nature of the league. There is little doubt that Manchester City are now the driving force with a team stacked with star names. This has led to punters supporting them using the latest promotions at the mohegan sun casino, as they are now strong favourites to defend their title.

Prior to the season everyone was talking about the expected dual between Manchester City and Liverpool, but there has also been a few surprises from teams in behind. Chelsea continue to go from strength to strength led by Belgium star, Eden Hazard who has now pushed himself in to question for future Ballon D’or honours. However the real surprise package thus far has been the resurgent Arsenal under new manager, Unai Emery.

Arsene Wenger had been at the helm of Arsenal since 1996, but his retirement at the end of last season was long overdue, as they had been in decline for some time. When Emery took over there was little doubt he had a big task on his hands, but he received a squad stacked with talent. Expectations this season were low as the manager would require time to transition his style of play into the squad. Arsenal opened up with two loses and the pressure already began to pile on Emery, with people believing it would be a tough season for the gunners. Since then the squad has improved no end and could they now even challenge for the title this season?

Arsenal have now won seven of their last eight games in the Premier league with just one draw. They are one of the current in form sides in European football. At present they sit fourth in the league behind Manchester City, Liverpool and rivals Chelsea. If it stays the same then this will be seen as a huge result from the fans and would represent big improvement under Emery. The new manager has an extensive background of success and winning trophies, so could this just be the change Arsenal needed to get them back challenging for major trophies.

Arsenal have continued to show there attacking prowess with an average of 2.4 goals scored a game in the league. One factor that will need to change if they are to continue this run is their goals conceded. In ten games they have conceded thirteen goals and when you look at the teams around them this is a big negative against them. Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea combined have only conceded 14, which itself shows this is an issue. Despite this there is little doubt it is exciting times at the club, and Arsenal have now returned to the force they once were.
